BOTOX TREATMENT

BOTOX TREATMENT

Type A Allantic toxin is a protein produced by the Botulinum clostridium and is known worldwide as Botox.
It is a non-surgical, injectable anti-aging treatment that is safely and effectively applied and aims to smooth facial expression wrinkles.
Botulinum toxin injections have been very popular in recent years.
In 2009, 10 million BOTOXes were carried out.

HOW DOES BOTOX WORK?
The BOTOX protein calms and relaxes specific muscles of the face, so that the skin on it becomes smoother and wrinkles disappear. It has action not only on fine but also on deeper facial wrinkles.
WHICH WRINKLES ARE ELIMINATED?
The most common wrinkles, which are eliminated, are:
- The goose leg or the wrinkles around the eyes
- The wrinkles on the forehead
- The wrinkles between the eyebrows
- Vertical wrinkles in the mouth and especially on the upper lip (smoker’s wrinkles).
SINCE WHEN IS BOTOULINE TOXIN APPLIED?
Botulinum toxin was first used in 1973 in the treatment of strabismus. In aesthetic medicine it was first applied as an injectable treatment against midface wrinkles in 1988 and since then it has been the most popular and the most effective measure to combat facial wrinkles. The botulinum toxin not only eliminates wrinkles but is also a means of protection against future wrinkles.
WHAT IS THE RECOVERY TIME?
BOTOX has no resuscitation time. After the treatment you can go out or go to work.
IS THIS TREATMENT RIGHT FOR ME?
This treatment is suitable for all people who have problems with wrinkles around the eyes, wrinkles on the forehead and wrinkles between the eyebrows and want to look younger and more relaxed.
WILL MY EXPRESSION CHANGE OR BE DISfigured?
The treatment with BOTOX relaxes specific facial muscles. All other muscles function normally. So the expression on our face is not affected in the slightest. Be careful though, as simple as it sounds, the treatment should only be done by doctors who have proper training and an excellent knowledge of facial anatomy.
HOW WILL I LOOK AFTER BOTOX?
More rested, cooler and with better skin quality.
CAN BOTOX PREVENT WRINKLES?
The best idea is not to cure but to prevent the formation of wrinkles. Of course this is one of the strengths of Botox.
CAN BOTOX REPLACE SURGERY?
BOTOX is complementary and cannot replace surgery.
BEFORE THE TREATMENT:
Before the treatment you will have an extensive discussion with the doctor about what BOTOX means and if there are any problems or health effects.
HOW IS THE TREATMENT DONE?
During the treatment the protein is injected directly into the specific facial muscles so that after 3-5 days we are ready to see the first results of the treatment. Because a very small needle is used – almost the smallest available – patients will likely feel a very slight and completely transient discomfort. The entire procedure takes no more than 10 minutes and of course is performed by a doctor who has the best training.
AFTER THE TREATMENT:
Temporary redness, minor swelling, bruising or headache may occur. For the first six (6) hours, no facial massage of any kind is allowed, and this is to prevent the BOTOX from moving to other areas. It is also advisable to avoid strenuous exercise for the first 24 hours after the injection of the drug. If not done carefully, drooping of the eyelid may occur.
HOW SAFE IS BOTOX?
You should know that this treatment has been used on millions of patients around the world and has been used for over 2 decades. Of course there are many, many studies that prove the safety of this treatment.
HOW LONG DOES BOTOX WORK?
Its duration is 3-6 months. If the results are not ideal in the first month you may need a top up. If the initial wrinkles, are fine and not very deep, then the patient expects 100% elimination of wrinkles.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER CONTINUOUS BOTOX TREATMENTS?
Someone who has been using BOTOX for a long time can expect an improvement in terms of the depth as well as the length of the original wrinkle. This is because the skin, due to the fact that the muscles underneath it are not in constant contraction, has the ability to regenerate.
WHAT AGE IS SUITABLE FOR SOMEONE TO START BOTOX?
If you start using BOTOX early, before wrinkles become permanent, then you get the best result.
PROBLEMS OR COMPLICATIONS AFTER BOTOX TREATMENT?
Problems after BOTOX are very, very rare. Temporary redness, minor swelling, bruising, headache may occur. Patients with neuromuscular diseases should inform the doctor. Also should not be done in pregnant women.
ARE THERE OTHER ALTERNATIVE TECHNIQUES?
BOTOX is one of the best and irreplaceable treatments in terms of complete wrinkle treatment. There are substitutes, such as peels or lasers or medical microdermabrasion, which may have some results, but never the same impressive results of BOTOX. Also in very deep wrinkles, it is good to combine it with injectable implants (fillers), such as those of hyaluronic acid.
HOW IS BOTOX DIFFERENT FROM HYALURONIC?
BOTOX is the only treatment that hits exactly the dynamic lines-wrinkles of the face and this is because it relaxes-paralyzes the muscle. Hyaluronate, injected just under the skin in a wrinkle-line, fills that wrinkle-line and has no effect on the underlying muscles (volume restoration).
WHAT IS BOTOX USUALLY COMBINED WITH?
BOTOX is most often combined with hyaluronic acid.
IS THERE ANYTHING NEW IN USING BOTOX?
Hyperhidrosis, spasms of the masseter, treatment of migraine, urinary incontinence.
BOTOX FOR HYPERHYDROSIS:
Hyperhidrosis is a condition in which the body produces large amounts of sweat and this results in leaving those areas with a dampness that causes problems in one’s daily activities. The most common areas which are treated are the armpits and the feet.
BOTOX FOR GUM HYPERtrophy:
In many men we see the so-called hypertrophy of the masticator. The masseter is the muscle that is seen when we close the mouth forcefully on the left and right sides of the face. This is where treatment can be done which is good to be done in 2-3 stages, where we start by injecting very small amounts and gradually go up to be safe. This can give us a very good result in the man.
BOTOX FOR CHRONIC MIGRAINES:
Patients who have a headache at least 15 days every month, of which 8 days are migraines, can be helped with Botox, as it is injected into specific muscles in the head (occipital, temporal).
