The threads Silhouette™ Soft are transparent and have small cones in opposite directions that lift the skin as we would in a surgical facelift.Initially the doctor marks the points where the suture will go, the local anesthetic is injected and local antisepsis is applied.Then the special threads are advanced under the skin and once all the cones have been inserted the doctor pulls as much as necessary to lift the skin to the desired point.

The total duration of the treatment is approximately 60 minutes and is performed under local anesthesia in the office. Immediately after the treatment there is slight swelling in the treated area and possibly slight tenderness for a few hours. Some ecchymosis may occur, which will gradually subside over the next twenty-four hours, and there may be slight tenderness in the area over the next few days. As well as some localised folds which also subside in a few days.

There are no incisions in the skin and no external stitches. It is important to know that there is no postoperative pain, only a minimal sensation of tension from lifting the facial skin. The patient can return to his/her activities immediately. He/she should, however, eat soft foods and avoid pressure and massage of the area for a week.

The result is evident immediately after treatment and continues to improve for the next 3 months. The effect is maintained for approximately 12-18 months.
